This peice is untitled, featuring a RAF Short Singapore 3 over civilian sail boats. On the reverse of this watercolour is another work of Barnes, depicting a Westland Wyvern S.4 over aircraft carriers in what is belived to be the Suez Canal where the S.4 saw active duty. An exceptionally vivid original watercolour by Barry K. Barnes GAvA. Barnes originally trained as a junior soldier in the British Army within which time the Army funded his early art education. Barnes, stationed at RAF Kimble as an aircfraft fitter, evolved a passion for aircraft which is expressed in his much of his work. In 1982, Barnes was made a member of the Guild of Aviation Artists as an Associate, granted full membership in 2001.
